About Us

Team Melo is a non-profit organization designed to provide young student athletes an opportunity to participate in the sport of basketball while gaining valuable life skills that will improve their quality of life.  NBA All-Star and Olympian Carmelo Anthony has committed resources to create a program that is defined by excellence and that focuses on the overall development and well-being of each player, parent, and associate that this program touches.

In 2021, Team Melo Alumni and NBA Professional Malcolm Delaney partnered with the organization to expand program offerings to elementary and middle school athletes. Me7o x MD23 represents the rich tradition of Baltimore basketball and follow the USAB guidelines to teach the fundamentals of the game through a sophisticated grade school program for youth basketball development. We also coordinate high-quality events and community outreach initiatives that serve Baltimore city as a whole.

The mission of the Team Melo program is:

  • To promote a competitive basketball environment and to teach life skills to youth of Baltimore who desire to pursue basketball as a means of getting a college degree.
  • To advance gender equal, all abilities, basketball that has a defined pathway to greatness.
  • To be a respected sports organization recognized for our philanthropic engagement and professional development.

Vision Statement

Team Melo fosters leadership that benefits players, families, the DMV community, and the world.

Service | Shape player mindsets and behaviors that positively influence measurable impact in the Baltimore city community.

Sacrifice | Demonstrate discipline and focus to successfully meet our goals.

Prosperity | Provide an environment that fosters individual and collective growth.

College Recruiting

The primary focus of the Team Melo program is to help the student-athletes who are both heavily recruited by colleges and those seeking such opportunities.  The Melo program and their representatives do everything within their power to bring awareness to student-athletes, their basketball and academic accomplishments, with the mutual goal of obtaining a 4-year college scholarship.

Our staff and personnel provides support and direction to student-athletes and their respective families during the very complicated college recruiting process, navigating the NCAA rules & guidelines, along with facilitating the college research & outreach.  Through event participation and exposure Team Melo provides one the biggest platforms and stages in country.
